Jared Rivera, a talented Mexican actress known for her work in both film and television, has always been passionate about the arts. She recently took on a new challenge that showcased her versatility and creativity: directing her first project.
“Suspirando completely challenged me,” Rivera recalls. “I didn’t have all the technical knowledge, but I had a vision. So, I surrounded myself with an incredible team—wonderful people in their fields who shared my energy. If it weren’t for the trust and responsibility Valerian gave me, I would never have discovered my abilities as a director, nor how much I enjoy it.”
The film Suspirando, in which Rivera both directs and acts, was shot in October 2023 in Mexico City. Since its release, the project has garnered over six official selections and two awards from various international film festivals.
Reflecting on the dual roles she played, Rivera admits, “Acting and directing was exhausting, but I am incredibly proud to have experienced it. I see great personalities like Bradley Cooper or Eugenio Derbez who do the same, and they manage to produce incredible work.”
Ultimately, Rivera’s driving force remains her unwavering passion for cinema. “What truly motivates me is the passion for film. I want to continue evoking emotions by telling great stories.”
With Suspirando already making waves, Jared Rivera is poised to continue her journey as both a performer and a director, further shaping the landscape of Mexican and international cinema.
