Damian Matyasik’s journey into the realm of creativity began with a childhood fascination for video games. Introduced to the world of gaming at the tender age of 7 through his first computer, the C-64, he was instantly hooked. As he grew older, his passion expanded to include cinema, sparked by the iconic film “Terminator 2” when he was just 12 years old.
By the age of 15, Matyasik embarked on his professional path, landing his first job as an editor for the countrywide video games magazine ‘Playstation Plus’.
This early experience solidified his commitment to the world of gaming and laid the foundation for his future endeavors. At 22, Matyasik transitioned into game design, securing a position in a Polish-American company. Over the next 15 years, he honed his skills, delving into various creative pursuits, including shooting commercials and hosting the popular video games TV show, “Game Time”.

Despite his success in the gaming industry, Matyasik harbored a long-standing dream of filmmaking. After years of contemplation, he made the bold decision to pursue this passion wholeheartedly. With determination and perseverance, he secured financing for his debut film, “Mom Dies Saturday”, in collaboration with Rafał Niemczyk. The film proved to be a resounding success, garnering an impressive 36 awards at international festivals.
Undeterred by the challenges of the film industry, Matyasik continued to push boundaries, completing his second short film, “Corpse in the Basement”.
Encouraged by his initial success, he embarked on his most ambitious project yet—a feature film slated for release in cinemas in early 2025. With the support of producer Przemek Waszczuk, Matyasik’s dream of bringing his cinematic vision to life is finally becoming a reality. For Matyasik, the journey from gaming enthusiast to acclaimed filmmaker has been marked by unwavering passion, determination, and a steadfast belief in the power of creativity. With each project, he continues to defy expectations and carve out his own unique path in the world of entertainment.
