That dream persisted until 1999, when he finally made the move to Hollywood.
His early years in the industry were spent working as an extra on notable films such as Vanilla Sky and Pumpkin, experiences that provided a valuable behind-the-scenes look at the entertainment business. However, after a detour into hospitality and real estate, Pfister felt the pull of his true calling once again. Determined to carve his own path, he shifted his focus towards independent filmmaking.
Pfister’s return to the industry was marked by the formation of his production company called Havenhurst Pictures. Under its umbrella are multiple short films, with Pfister expanding his expertise into writing, directing, and editing. One of Pfister’s most notable projects is The ‘Jacob’ Trilogy, a 28-minute film that premiered at the legendary Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard on September 9, 2024. The film follows a young boy’s journey to uncover the identity of his father, exploring the emotional complexities of parental revelation. Pfister sought to spark an important conversation: at what age should a child learn the truth about their parental identity?
The film, featuring the acting debut of Jakoby King in the title role, also stars Samarah Summers, Madeline McCuskey, Eli Kranski, and Magnolia Mansur. Cinematography by Daniel Hale. The ‘Jacob’ Trilogy has been met with critical acclaim, earning multiple awards, including Best Indie Short and Best Acting Debut for King at the Oniros Film Awards New York.
